The school's selectivity is a joke. 99.9 percent of the students are unintelligent but that doesn't stop the university from admitting everyone in. Sure, GMU doesn't place 100 percent of the students that applied but they will let you in if you didn't fail any of your classes. I got accepted to summer school as a junior (15/16 years old) in high school with a 2.8 GPA. My SAT scores weren't that high either (1960), so as long as you pass all your classes with a C or better and score around the nation's national SAT average, you're pretty much guaranteed a spot. Don't even worry if you're an in-state student.

I had a 3.4 GPA, 1200 sat, and was very active in my HS community as a cheerleader, first chair vilolinist in orchestra for four years, student council and class officer for two. But after looking at all the college admissions data, and after being in college for 2.5 years, I believe that a strong academic record alone will get you into the school of your choice.
